NFL playoff picture: AFC, NFC wild-card round seeding ahead of Lions-Vikings on 'SNF'

After four months of regular-season action, the NFL playoff picture is nearly complete.

Twelve teams locked up their postseason berths before Week 18, and the two remaining teams — the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Denver Broncos — secured their playoff spots with victories Sunday, while the Bucs also locked up the NFC South. The Baltimore Ravens (AFC North) claimed their division crown this weekend, too.

Only the NFC North remains up for grabs heading into an enticing “Sunday Night Football” showdown between the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings. Not only is the division on the line, but the teams are also playing for the NFC’s top seed and the spoils that come with it, meaning home-field advantage in the playoffs and a first-round bye.

Here’s a look at the current playoff seeding with one regular-season game remaining:

AFC playoff seeding

No. 1 Kansas City Chiefs (15-2) — first-round bye

No. 7 Denver Broncos (10-7) at No. 2 Buffalo Bills (13-4)

No. 6 Pittsburgh Steelers (10-7) at No. 3 Baltimore Ravens (12-5)

No. 5 Los Angeles Chargers (11-6) at No. 4 Houston Texans (10-7)

NFC playoff seeding

No. 1 Detroit Lions or Minnesota Vikings (winner) — first-round bye

No. 7 Green Bay Packers (11-6) at No. 2 Philadelphia Eagles (14-3)

No. 6 Washington Commanders (12-5) at No. 3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (10-7)

No. 5 Detroit Lions or Minnesota Vikings (loser) at No. 4 Los Angeles Rams (10-7)
