Bournemouth have confirmed the signing of defender Julio Soler from Argentine club Lanus.
The 19-year-old left-back has agreed to a four-year contract with the Premier League side.
Soler has been capped by Argentina up to under-20 level and was part of the Under-23 squad that took part in the 2024 Paris Olympics. He was born in Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay, but moved to Argentina as a young child.
A graduate of the Lanus youth academy, Soler made 58 first-team appearances for the club having made his senior debut in May 2022.
Milos Kerkez has been the first-choice left-back for Andoni Iraola since the Hungarian’s arrival from AZ in the summer of 2023. Lloyd Kelly was a left-back option last season before he joined Newcastle United, while Adam Smith has also featured there during his career.
Soler becomes Bournemouth’s second signing of the January transfer window following the arrival of centre-back Matai Akinmboni from MLS side DC United.
Bournemouth’s next game comes on Saturday when they host West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup third round, before they return to Premier League action with a trip to Chelsea next Tuesday.
