The Wempe Iron Walker Diver with rubber strap and black dial
Wempe, the luxury watch and jewelry retailer and manufacturer, has dramatically diversified its Iron Walker collection with three new models: a Diver, Tide and GMT. The watches are produced in Wempe’s family owned and operated manufacturer located in Glashütte, a center for high-quality German watchmaking.
Wempe introduced the Iron Walker in 2020 as a group of stainless-steel sport watches with integrated stainless-steel bracelets. The original inspiration for the collection were Ironworkers, particularly those who assembled the structural metal framework that supports important New York skyscrapers and bridges in the early- to mid-20th century, which remain iconic today.
One of the main updates to the collection is that the three new models are now available with rubber straps. The company says these straps are resilient, durable, comfortable and are protected from UV rays, which can cause discoloring. All of the watches come with Rhodium plated luminous Super-LumiNova hands.
The rubber straps are available in blue and black, matching the colors of the dials for the new models.
All of the watches use Sellita automatic movements modified in Wempe’s watch workshop in Glashütte so they can pass the German chronometric testing process to meet the ISO 3159 chronometer standard.
