Vice President Harris and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will deliver remarks at the White House on Thursday following a separate meeting with President Biden.
Zelensky will be welcomed to the White House, where he is expected to present his “victory plan” on how Ukraine can overcome its nearly three-year war with Russia.
Zelensky will meet with Biden first, deliver remarks with Harris then meet with Harris — the Democratic presidential nominee — privately, according to the White House.
The meeting comes on the heels of Biden’s final address before the U.N. General Assembly and Zelensky’s speech, during which he warned that Russia was preparing for potential nuclear attacks. He also called for the international community to put more pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin to halt any plans to attack.
Biden has reaffirmed the U.S. commitment to support Ukraine and on Thursday pledged an estimated $8 billion in aid for the war-torn country.
Harris and Zelensky are scheduled to deliver remarks at 3:05 p.m. ET.
