The Athletic has live coverage of the latest news on the 2024 NFL schedule release.

The NFL will release the 2024 schedules for all 32 teams at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday. Here’s what we know about the Washington Commanders’ schedule so far.

They will play each team from the NFC South and AFC North, as well as the 2023 last-place teams from the NFC North, NFC West and AFC South. Washington will also see its NFC East division rivals twice as part of its 17-game schedule.

Here is the lineup of home and road opponents, listed alphabetically.

Commanders’ 2024 opponents

Home Road

Atlanta Falcons

Arizona Cardinals

Carolina Panthers

Baltimore Ravens

Chicago Bears

Cincinnati Bengals

Cleveland Browns

Dallas Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys

New Orleans Saints

New York Giants

New York Giants

Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia Eagles

Pittsburgh Steelers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tennessee Titans

The Commanders went 4-13 in the 2023 regular season, finishing last in the NFC East and getting the opportunity to pick second in this year’s NFL Draft, where they selected reigning Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Jayden Daniels. Washington also had a staff overhaul in the offseason, as Adam Peters was hired as general manager, Dan Quinn as head coach, Kliff Kingsbury as offensive coordinator and Joe Whitt Jr. as defensive coordinator.

Washington is hoping a fresh start will lead to future success. The team hasn’t made the playoffs since 2020, when it won the NFC East with a 7-9 record, and hasn’t had a winning season since 2016.

Come back Wednesday night for the Commanders’ week-to-week schedule for 2024, plus season analysis and predictions.
