Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk live updates: Fight card latest, ring walks, predictions and more

Despite that explanation, John Fury was quickly criticised by much of the boxing hoi polloi for his violent role in the scuffle.

Carl Froch hit out at his “disgraceful” behaviour, while Tony Bellew described John Fury as “embarrassing” and “disturbing”.

Alexander Krassyuk, Oleksandr Usyk’s promoter, meanwhile told Sky that Fury should apologise for his actions.

“It would be nice if we hear some apologies from John because it was his behaviour,” said Krassyuk.

“We are the example for the world, the whole world is watching us and new generations, kids, are taking us as examples. What will they see from this? What will they make of this?

“Of course there is going to be some rush on the internet but it is up to him if he wants to apologise, it is up to him.”

And Fury decided to oblige later in the week. “Sincere apologies to everybody involved,” he said.
