David Ornstein reported on Tuesday that Facundo Pellistri was set to travel to Spain ahead of his proposed loan move to Granada.

The 22-year-old winger is set to join on a straight loan deal without the La Liga side holding an option to make the switch permanent in the summer.

It’s not strictly transfer news, but injury has prevented Cristiano Ronaldo from being part of the Al Nassr squad that will face Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami in Saudi Arabia later today.

Al Nassr head coach Luis Castro confirmed the 38-year-old’s absence in a press conference on Wednesday, adding: “Ronaldo is in the final part of his recovery to join the group. We hope that in the next few days, he can start working with the team.”

Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos struggled on loan at Nottingham Forest, making just two appearances before being recalled.

Yesterday, we reported that the midfielder — who is currently away with Brazil Under-23s at the South American pre-Olympic qualifying tournament — is in talks to join Ligue 1 club Strasbourg on loan for the rest of the season.

Strasbourg are owned by BlueCo, which also owns Chelsea, and are managed by former Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira.
