Oakland’s Jack Gohlke hit his first 3-pointer of Thursday’s game against Kentucky at the 13:52 mark of the first half.

Then he hit another. And another.

And another.

It was raining 3s at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh. Gohlke, the Oakland senior guard, was a big reason why. He recorded seven first-half 3s (he went 7-of-13) and 21 points in 14 minutes against No. 3 Kentucky.

“He better hit seven more,” Oakland coach Greg Kampe said during the CBS halftime interview.

For the season, Gohlke has averaged 12.2 points per game on 37.3 percent shooting from the floor. He’s also shot 37 percent from 3.

Asked what his message to Gohlke will be at halftime, Kampe said, “Keep shooting.”

Oakland leads 38-35 at halftime over Kentucky.

This will be updated.
