Newcastle United will be without Kieran Trippier for around three weeks, while Tino Livramento and Miguel Almiron face a month on the sidelines.
Trippier, 33, was again absent from the squad for Tuesday’s visit of Everton having missed the previous four games in all competitions due to a calf injury.
The England international appears to have suffered a setback in his recovery from that issue, as head coach Eddie Howe had spoken more positively about him earlier this week.
“Kieran is improving,” Howe said. “A difficult injury for him.
“An injury to the calf, one we have to be very careful with and we’d hoped he’d be fit in and around this game (Saturday’s 4-3 win over West Ham United) but we’ll have to wait and see how he goes during this week.”

Livramento, 21, and Almiron, 30, both sustained injuries during the West Ham game. Almiron had replaced Livramento, who had injured his ankle, in the 56th minute but lasted only 10 minutes himself being needed to be withdrawn due to a knee problem.
Newcastle also lost captain Jamaal Lascelles to injury against West Ham, with the centre-back having to be substituted in the opening 15 minutes. It was later confirmed that Lascelles had sustained anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) damage to his right knee and will be out for six to nine months.
Joelinton, Matt Targett, Callum Wilson, Nick Pope, Sven Botman and Lewis Miley are also out injured for Newcastle, with Anthony Gordon suspended for the Everton fixture.
Following the Everton match, Newcastle travel to Fulham on Saturday.
