Miami landed a commitment on Friday from former Michigan State defensive tackle Simeon Barrow, beating out LSU and Missouri for the coveted transfer.

Barrow, a 6-foot-3, 290-pound senior, started 30 games over the past three seasons for the Spartans and has 18.5 tackles for a loss and 11.5 sacks in his career. He is ranked No. 5 among available transfers by The Athletic’s Max Olson.

Barrow joins an experienced defensive line that features NC State transfer C.J. Clark (23 starts), Middle Tennessee transfer Marley Cook (27 starts), Akheem Mesidor (26 starts) and Rueben Bain, the reigning ACC Rookie of the Year.

The Hurricanes have landed five high-end former starters in the transfer portal during the spring window. The other additions: ex-Oregon State running back Damien Martinez, former Houston leading receiver Sam Brown, ex-Louisville linebacker Jaylin Alderman and former Marshall cornerback Dyoni Hill.
