Liverpool have completed the signing of goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia.
The Georgia international, 23, arrives in a deal worth £25million ($33m) plus £4m ($5.3m) in add-ons.
The move will see him stay in Spain on loan for the remainder of the 2024-25 season before officially moving to Anfield in July 2025.
Liverpool have been monitoring Mamardashvili’s progress for a number of seasons. He had several glowing scouting reports and scored highly on their data analysis.
Alisson’s status as No 1 goalkeeper remains intact and Liverpool see the signing of Mamardashvili as succession planning.

Mamardashvili starred for Georgia during their run to the last 16 of Euro 2024 before they were eventually knocked out by Spain, who would go on to win the tournament in Germany.
That followed him impressing with 13 clean sheets in 37 La Liga games for Valencia last season.
Alisson has been Liverpool’s No 1 goalkeeper since joining from Roma in 2018. His contract at Anfield runs until 2027.
Caoimhin Kelleher has been the club’s preferred reserve goalkeeper in recent years with his terms expiring in 2026.
Mamardashvili spent his youth and early career with Dinamo Tbilisi in his homeland before moving to La Liga in 2021.
He has gone on to make 102 appearances for the Spanish club, keeping 31 clean sheets.
