Jack Wilshere is in advanced talks to leave his role as Arsenal Under-18 head coach to take up a first-team coaching role at Norwich City.
Wilshere will effectively replace Narcis Pelach at Norwich, who left last month to take over at fellow Championship club Stoke City after Steven Schumacher had been sacked.
Norwich are increasingly confident Wilshere will join them but the move may not be completed in time for this Saturday’s trip to Stoke. Wilshere is excited by the opportunity of joining Johannes Hoff Thorup’s backroom staff and his relationship with Ben Knapper, Norwich’s sporting director who previously worked as Arsenal’s loans manager until October 2023, has helped the process.
Wilshere started his role with the Arsenal Under-18s in the summer of 2022, shortly after he announced his retirement from playing. He led the side to the FA Youth Cup final in his first season in charge, where they were defeated by West Ham United.
The 32-year-old previously came through the academy at Arsenal, making 197 appearances for them before joining West Ham and then Bournemouth.
