Vice President Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), are set to take a bus tour through central Pennsylvania next week, her campaign announced Saturday.

The visit Wednesday to the critical swing state of Pennsylvania highlights the Harris campaign’s focus on winning the Keystone State. The bus tour, which will involve multiple stops and talking to voters, will be the first time the two Democrats campaign together in central Pennsylvania.

The Keystone State is considered one of, if not the most, important battleground states in the 2024 presidential election, carrying with it the prize of 19 Electoral College votes.

Former President Trump and Harris are largely neck-and-neck in the state, with Harris carrying a 1.3 percentage point lead over Trump, 49.2 percent to 47.9 percent, according to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ aggregation of polls.

Harris and Walz embarked on a bus tour last month through southeast Georgia, which is another crucial state to win this cycle. On that trip, which was a way for them to reach more rural parts of the Peach State, they stopped at a high school and spoke to students and then ended in Savannah, Ga., for a rally.

The Harris campaign also launched a bus tour focused on reproductive rights, which involved surrogates like second gentleman Doug Emhoff and Minnesota first lady Gwen Walz. It started in Palm Beach, Fla., which is Trump’s hometown.
