Former Juventus, PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot close to joining Marseille

Former Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot is set to join Marseille.

The 29-year-old is close to agreeing a two-year contract with the French club, and is enthusiastic about the opportunity to join manager Roberto De Zerbi’s project.

Rabiot has been a free agent after his contract with Juventus expired at the end of June. He confirmed that he would not be extending his stay in Italy.

During his time at Juventus, he made 212 appearances, winning a Serie A title, two Coppa Italia trophies, and a Supercoppa Italiana. Rabiot also reached a notable milestone by becoming the fifth French player in Juventus’ history to feature on 200 occasions.

The France international has been linked with a Premier League move in the past. Last summer, The Athletic reported that Manchester United made contact with Rabiot’s representatives over a proposed move to Old Trafford. However, he went on to sign a one-year contract extension with Juventus.

He also came close to a move to United in the summer of 2022, but the club were unable to agree personal terms with him.

Rabiot has been capped 48 times by France and was part of the side that reached the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar.
