The (8) UConn Huskies took Florida down to the wire in the second round but ultimately, the Gators found a way to claw out a 77-75 win to advance to the Sweet 16.
Florida shot 46 percent from the field but really shined from long range, shooting 9-19 (47.4 percent). Walter Clayton Jr. led the Gators with 23 points, going 5-8 from deep.
It wasn’t Florida’s best performance, turning the ball over 12 times, shooting 64.7 percent from the free throw line and allowing 32 points in the paint, but it was enough to survive and advance.
