Tech billionaire Elon Musk slammed actor Dana Carvey over his “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) impression of him, saying the comedy show is “dying.”
“SNL has been dying slowly for years, as they become increasingly out of touch with reality,” Musk posted to X, the social media platform he owns.
Musk criticized SNL’s owner, NBC News for their “last-ditch effort” to “cheat the equal airtime requirements.”
Vice President Kamala Harris made a brief appearance on SNL ahead of the election. Following her appearance, NBC offered President-elect Trump time on-air as part of the Federal Communications Commission’s “equal time” rule that allows rival candidates to ask for airtime if they want it.
In Saturday’s SNL episode, the cast jokingly appealed to Trump in their cold open. SNL alum Carvey, who has appeared as President Biden in recent sketches, impersonated Musk in the sketch.
Carvey jumped up and down with his arms pumping, referencing when Musk came on stage at a Trump rally last month.
“Check it out, dark MAGA,” Carvey, as Musk, said in the sketch.
In a separate post, Musk criticized Carvey’s performance, saying “Dana Carvey just sounds like Dana Carvey.”
Musk, who hosted SNL in 2021, also said the show is “so mad” that Trump won the election.
