Caleb Kporha signs new four-year Crystal Palace contract

Crystal Palace’s Caleb Kporha has signed a new four-year contract with the club.

The 18-year-old’s previous deal was set to expire this summer but he has now committed his future to Palace.

Originally a winger, Kporha, who signed for Palace’s academy at Under-16 level from Welling United in 2021, is capable of playing anywhere across the back four but is primarily a wing-back and that is where he has featured for the Under-21 side.

Oliver Glasner handed him his senior debut in November, when he came on as a substitute in a 2-0 defeat by Fulham, and made his first start against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on December 18. He played the whole first half before being replaced by Nathaniel Clyne at the break.

Kporha also appeared in the Premier League fixture against Arsenal three days later and came on as a substitute in Palace’s 2-0 win over Doncaster Rovers in the FA Cup fourth round.

Highly-rated by the club, Kporha was kept out of action for around a year after sustaining a significant hamstring injury in April 2023.

Kporha is also an England youth international, having been capped at under-17 and under-19 level.
