Bournemouth striker Evanilson has undergone surgery after suffering a fractured metatarsal in his foot.
The 25-year-old sustained the injury during Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Everton, where he was substituted off for Philip Billing in the 82nd minute.
The south-coast club confirmed on Tuesday that the Brazil international had “undergone a successful procedure to repair a fractured metatarsal” after scans revealed a broken bone that required surgery.
Bournemouth added: “The club’s medical staff will now provide Evanilson with their full support through the rehabilitation process, ensuring he has the best possible recovery.”
Evanilson, who has been capped twice by Brazil, joined Bournemouth from Porto last summer in a deal worth €47million (£40.3m; $51.7m).
After winning six trophies with Porto including three Portuguese Cups and the Liga Portugal in 2022, he has scored five goals in 20 appearances for Andoni Iraola’s side this season.
Evanilson’s injury leaves Bournemouth with only Enes Unal as a recognised senior striker in their squad, though winger Antoine Semenyo has featured as a No 9 previously.
Bournemouth are next in action at home against West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.
