Bournemouth's Alex Scott set for injury absence after meniscus surgery

Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott is set for a period on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on a meniscus injury.

The 21-year-old has featured in all eight Premier League matches for Bournemouth this season, starting twice — including in Saturday’s two-goal victory at home to Arsenal.

The south coast club confirmed on Thursday that Scott has undergone surgery for a knee injury sustained earlier this week.

Scott was ruled out for two lengthy spells in the 2023-24 season, having sustained a significant knee injury prior to joining the club from Bristol City last summer and later suffering a medial collateral ligament (MCL) knee injury that sidelined him for seven weeks.

The midfielder made 27 appearances across all competitions for Andoni Iraola’s team last season, scoring twice.

Bournemouth return to action with a Premier League trip to Aston Villa on Saturday before hosting Manchester City on November 2 and travelling to Brentford a week later before the November international break.
