Arch Manning will appear in College Football 25 after opting into video game

Texas quarterback Arch Manning announced Tuesday that he has opted into the upcoming College Football 25 video game with a promotional video featuring his uncle Eli Manning.

In March, Orangebloods reported that the former No. 1 recruit had decided not to opt into the game because he was “focused on playing football on the field.” His ad with his Super Bowl-winning uncle poked fun at that line while showing Manning throwing a touchdown pass at a Texas practice playing as himself in the video game.

More than 14,000 FBS players opted into the game earlier this year, granting EA Sports permission to use their name, image and likeness in exchange for a $600 payment and a copy of the game. EA Sports finalized the list of more than 11,000 players who will appear in the game in June and is expected to release the initial rosters on Wednesday. The game will be released on July 19 on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.

Texas starting quarterback Quinn Ewers is one of three cover athletes for College Football 25, the first installment in the college football video game series since it went on hiatus after 2013. Manning appeared in two games during his true freshman season with the Longhorns in 2023 while backing up Ewers.
