Two weeks after the conclusion of their season, the Sacramento Kings continue making moves. The Kings are finalizing a deal with interim coach Doug Christie to become the franchise’s next coach, a league source confirmed to The Athletic on Tuesday.

Christie has been on Sacramento’s coaching staff since 2021 and was named interim coach after the organization fired Mike Brown in late December. The Kings have now made coach and GM hires before the NBA playoffs have concluded after Sacramento parted ways with general manager Monte McNair — a move that came almost immediately after its season-ending, Play-In loss to the Dallas Mavericks — and brought in Scott Perry to take his place.
