The chair of House Republicans’ campaign arm, Rep. Richard Hudson (R-N.C.), said the committee raised $35.2 million ahead of its dinner with President Trump on Tuesday, according to a source familiar.

Trump is slated to attend the National Republican Congressional Dinner, a key fundraising event for Hoise Republicans, on Tuesday.

The staggering haul is a boon to Republicans as they look to defend a narrow majority in the lower chamber next year.

Hudson told Fox News earlier on Tuesday that Democrats “hold a structural advantage when it comes to fundraising.”

“They always seem to have just mountains of money. So I think the amount of money the Democrats raise is probably the only thing that really concerns me, Hudson told Fox,

“We have to raise enough money to keep up with the Democrats and make sure that our candidates can get their message out,” he said.

Republicans hold a slim 220-213 majority in the House after last week’s special election wins in Florida’s first and sixth congressional districts. While Reps. Jimmy Patronis (R-Fla.) and Randy Fine (R-Fla.) each won their districts by roughly 14 points, it was less than the 30 point margin that Trump won the districts by.

Democrats argue that the narrowed margin spells good news for them on the House map. On Tuesday, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) released an ambitious list of 35 House Republicans it plans to target in 2026, including in district Trump carried by double digits. The NRCC has dismissed the list as “a political fantasy.”

Last month, the NRCC released its target list, which included 26 House Democrats.
