Do you believe that God can save any marriage?
Patricia Ashley didn’t always think so. At one time, her marriage to Vernon was dead. She says, “I didn’t love my husband. I didn’t hate him. I wasn’t glad to see him come. I wasn’t glad to see him go. It didn’t make a difference what time he came in or if he came in at all. It was dead.”
They were so isolated from each other that they were divorced in almost every way – emotionally, spiritually, and physically. He read his Bible in one room, and she read her Bible in another.
But through God’s grace, Patricia and Vernon’s dead marriage was resurrected, and they enjoyed a happy marriage for over 45 years until his death in 2018.
On Focus on the Family with Jim Daly, we’re airing a recording of Patricia sharing her remarkable testimony at a women’s conference in Indian Wells, California several years ago.
Although no marriage is perfect, the crucial question is, “What do you do when problems arise?” Do you lovingly confront your spouse and work through the issue? Or do you ignore the problem and hope it will go away? And if the problem continues, then what?
Patricia has helpful answers to those tough questions. She shares out of her own pain and offers ideas you can employ today in your relationship. Listen on your local radio station, online, on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or listen on our free phone app.
