The San Francisco 49ers will be without starting quarterback Brock Purdy Sunday when they travel to play the Green Bay Packers, coach Kyle Shanahan announced Friday.
Purdy (right shoulder) will miss the Week 12 game after entering the week with soreness in his throwing shoulder following Sunday’s 20-17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
Purdy was listed as a limited participant in practices on both Wednesday and Thursday.

Purdy has started all 10 of San Francisco’s games this season, completing 66 percent of his passes for 2,613 yards, 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He’s also rushed for 267 yards and four touchdowns.
With Purdy out, Shanahan confirmed Friday that backup quarterback Brandon Allen is set to start this weekend against the Packers.
“I think Brandon’s a really good thrower, runs our offense well, has done a really good job since he’s been here,” Shanahan said Friday. “Been here two years now and guys believe in him, and believe he’ll give us a good chance to win.”
